Executive Order No. 246 also takes steps to motivate and prepare for North Carolinas shift to a tidy transport future. It likewise directs the North Carolina Department of Transportation to establish a North Carolina Clean Transportation Plan for decarbonizing the transport sector through reductions in car miles traveled, an increase in zero-emission buses, cars, and trucks, and other techniques. To help strengthen North Carolinas labor force and develop great jobs in the clean energy economy, the North Carolina Climate Change Interagency Council will identify techniques to increase variety in industries and professions that are vital to attending to climate change in North Carolina.
